Raymond E. Thompson
Biography: Raymond Edwin Thompson was born onf December 29, 1921 in San Saba, Texa. He was the sone of Pum-Roy Thompson and Lillie E. Sawyer. His Draft Card, dated February 16, 1942, indicates he was employed at the Phenix Dairy in Wharton, TX.
Service Time: Raymond entered the Army on 7-15-42 and was eventually assigned to the 6th Tank Destroyer Group and is listed on their payroll roster of 7-28-43. He was discharged on September 18, 1945.
On Novembeer 26, 1955, he married the former Marion N. Snow, daughter of J. Edgar Snow and Barshie E. Reed. She was born in Alabama and the ceremony took place in Franklin, Tennessee. The couple had two children, Andrew and Rebecca.
Raymond passed away on January 21, 1998, in Austin, Texas and was buried in the Straley Cemetery, Adamsville, TX.
