Biography:  Allerton Cushman was born on August 27, 1907, in Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester, Vermont.  He was the son of Guy Cushman and Eleanor Forester Parker.

Allerton passed away on October 25, 2006 at the age of 99.  He made his residence in Paradise Valley, Arizona. 

He married Louise Bushnell in 1935 and together they had one son and one daughter.

Service Time:  Allerton was an observer during actions in Northern Africa and returned to write an official report on his findings.  He was later put in command of the 671st Tank Destroyer Battalion and wrote an article for the Field Artillery Journal on the units plans to use Tank Destroyers to fight the Japanese.
