Biography:  Archie Wilson Durand was born in Reids, Louisiana on June 7, 1921.  He was the son of Archie Durand and Grace Martin and attended local schools in Reids.

Service Time:  Archie entered the service and was assigned to B Company of the 636th Tank Destroyer Battalion.  On March 21, 1945, during intense action on the Siegfried Line, Archie was wounded.  He later died from his injuries and was buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Deptrtment de la Moselle, Lorraine, France.  He is interred in Plot C, Row 19, Grave 61.  At the time of his death, he was a Corporal and received a Purple Heart.
