Unit History:  Unit was activated at Camp Bowie, TX on Feb. 13, 1943.  The unit moved to Camp Hood, TX on Apr. 1, 1943.  Assigned to the Third Army and moved to Many, LA, and the Louisiana Maneuver Area on Jun. 27, 1943, where they were attached to the X Corps on Aug. 5, 1943.  Transferred to Camp Gruber, OK on Aug. 26, 1943 and then to the Desert Training Center and Camp Young, CA, on Nov, 14, 1943.  Moved to Camp Cooke, CA, on Feb. 26, 1944 and attached to the III Corps.  Transferred to Camp Howze, TX, on May. 3, 1944, and attached XXIII Corps. Deactivated on May. 25, 1944.  Attached/Supported: Third Army, X, III and XXIII Corps.  Information gathered from WWII Order of Battle by Shelby L. Stanton.
