SSgt. Merle V. Boyes takes a moment to think about the trip accross the English Channel and their impending arrival at La Havre, France.  Elements of the unit were aboard an LST (Landing Ship Tank) which was capable of carrying heavy equipment, which could then be off-loaded directly onto the shore.
