My uncle, Richard Hazelton Betts, served with the 809th and crossed the bridge at Remagen before it was destroyed. I will be contacting my cousins so that they make enter his biography into this pantheon of heroes.

My uncle, Fred Sullivan, Sr. was a member of the 822nd Tank Destroyer Battalion. He is still going strong at 89 years young. I will send you info to include him on the site.

Excellent site! I have studied the TDs for years before I served in the 635th TANK Battalion, 35th ID (National Guard) in the late 80s. I understand the 635th TD was re-designated a tank battalion when it was reactivated as a National Guard unit. I shared my knowledge at the time with my fellow Guardsmen about the tank destroyers - seek, strike, destroy!

My Maternal Grandfather was a member of the 635th ...I am unsure of which Battalion.. It was a Charlie Company. They used to reunion. He died in 1988, and I am sure his other "Buddy" from Ohio has died. I am pleased to find this web site. I have fond memories of ....The Reagan years"!!!
