• My siblings and I and our spouses are attempting to piece together our dad's experiences with Company C 636th Tank Destroyer Battalion in WWII. His name was Joseph H. Jordan. He was wounded on 14 December 1943 at Battle of San Pietro [for which he was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart]. We know he was injured trying to put out a fire in the ammunition storage area. After a stint in the hospital he was reassigned. He may have been transferred to the HQ Company of the 36th Infantry Division. Any information or access to records, documents or books would be most appreciated. Sincerely, His twelve children

• On Jan. 29, 2011 one of the Tank Destroyer man passed, Leo L. Murray of Minnesota was a Tank Commander in the 814th he will be missed by many people. Thanks to him and all the men that fought for our freedom. He was my hero.

• My father served in the 821st tank destroyer batallion during wwll. His name was Eldred Anton Supon. I'm searching for anyone who was in his unit or the company he was in.

• My Father James R. Gaither served with the 801st TD and was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. It was only after my serice in the USAF that he talked about his service during WW2.

• SGT Jack D. Hilliard is my wife's grandfather. He is still living today. He resides in Phil Campbell, Alabama with his wife Jessie Lou Hilliard. He is an inspiration to us all. He is a great man and a true American hero.

• My father was in the 671st TD/BN in the Philippines in 1945. Departed from Fort Hood Texas, His name was SGT Phillip E Smith. His tank was named "Stardust".

• I can identify that photo of an unknown platoon that is in the photo section. It is one of the gun platoons from 601st TD BN, Company B. I have a copy of that same photo which was supplied to me by Capt. Robert Maynard of Suttons Bay, Michigan. He was the CO of Company B at the end of the war. That photo was taken in Salzburg, Austria. My father, T5 Howard L. Purvis, of Louisburg, KS was a driver in company B from North Africa to the end of the war.
