- My siblings and I and our spouses are attempting to piece together our dad's experiences with Company C 636th Tank Destroyer Battalion in WWII. His name was Joseph H. Jordan. He was wounded on 14 December 1943 at Battle of San Pietro [for which he was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart]. We know he was injured trying to put out a fire in the ammunition storage area. After a stint in the hospital he was reassigned. He may have been transferred to the HQ Company of the 36th Infantry Division.
