I was two when my parents separated. I never knew my father or saw a picture of him. I have asked relatives and searched for years for a picture. He was in the 704th. Thanks to my daughter for finding this site. Often I would come to see if the Camp Hood pictures were here. Yesterday I found his picture. At 75 yrs old I now know what my father looked like. Thank you so much for what you do here. My father Edward A. McKinley died in 1960.

My father Ruben Bucksbee was a CPL tech in the 826th company A. He was an amphibious tractor driver.

I was doing some research on my Father's, CPL Michael Massarotti, military service. I was quite surprised what I came across. There were pictures, some of which I had. (His name was misspelled though. The pictures had been glued down and I wasn't able to gain much information from the back. I will now be able to put names to those I didn't have and also confirm those I did have. I enjoyed reading the group's history. Some of it I remembered, but I was just in my early teens when he told me about it. Miss him so much..

I am a cousin of Neil William McIntyre, Company C, 634th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He enlisted 20 July 1944 in Minnesota, trained at Camp Hood, TX, in Europe from 5 February 1945 to 8 April 1945. Killed by accidental gunshot 8 April 1945 in the vicinity of Wehrden, Germany. I am looking for a photograph of him for his grave at the American War Cemetery, Margraten, The Netherlands.

CW3(Retired)John Verbosh, Father-In-Law....SGT Joseph Korrubin was part of the 631st Tank Destroyer Bn...just finding this page..so glad we are able to see and follow where he was during the war..will be doing more research on his unit...He passed away in 2009..losing way to many of the greatest generation...

Amazing. I am excited. Brothers will be happy that your web page has been found. Our dad, with the exception of only a couple stories, never talked about his experiences during his time over seas. I happened to find his discharge papers a few years ago. That was all that we knew up until now. If any one has anything they would like to share we would love to hear it.

George Kossum, my father, was with the [B]609th[/B] Tank Destroyer Battalion, Pioneer (Reconnaissance) Company, and, I believe (still researching), 2nd Platoon Pioneer, attached to Company C of the Battalion. After landing at Utah Beach in September of 1944, His travels and battle experiences took him through France, Luxembourg, Germany, and Austria, ending near Fussen in Southern Bavaria. He fought in the Battle of Bastogne, and three battle campaigns. I would hear him talk of a gentleman named [B]Sidney "Sid" Gill[/B] whom he served with. I believe I have several pictures of Sid, and would certainly share them with his family. I would love to speak with any of his survivors about his and my dad's travels and which Platoon, and Company they served with. This site has greatly helped me with my search, and I want to thank all who work here for the great things that they have done.

This has been an incredible find! My husband's uncle was a member of 823rd TD bn. He lost his life on Oct 14, 1944 fighting along all these men. Reading all this information has been ***. It feels like we understand what he was doing, where he was going and since he was apart of Co. B, he must have been doing a bang up job. Thanks to the people who put this all together.
