Amazing. I am excited. Brothers will be happy that your web page has been found. Our dad, with the exception of only a couple stories, never talked about his experiences during his time over seas. I happened to find his discharge papers a few years ago. That was all that we knew up until now. If any one has anything they would like to share we would love to hear it.

George Kossum, my father, was with the [B]609th[/B] Tank Destroyer Battalion, Pioneer (Reconnaissance) Company, and, I believe (still researching), 2nd Platoon Pioneer, attached to Company C of the Battalion. After landing at Utah Beach in September of 1944, His travels and battle experiences took him through France, Luxembourg, Germany, and Austria, ending near Fussen in Southern Bavaria. He fought in the Battle of Bastogne, and three battle campaigns. I would hear him talk of a gentleman named [B]Sidney "Sid" Gill[/B] whom he served with. I believe I have several pictures of Sid, and would certainly share them with his family. I would love to speak with any of his survivors about his and my dad's travels and which Platoon, and Company they served with. This site has greatly helped me with my search, and I want to thank all who work here for the great things that they have done.

This has been an incredible find! My husband's uncle was a member of 823rd TD bn. He lost his life on Oct 14, 1944 fighting along all these men. Reading all this information has been ***. It feels like we understand what he was doing, where he was going and since he was apart of Co. B, he must have been doing a bang up job. Thanks to the people who put this all together. As the grandson to my grand father who served in this unit , I am over grateful for the information I have gotten from this web site. I feel as I was able to walk with my grandfather thru his stories and the info you have provided, til the moment he last his leg from a land mine. Only wish I could been able to share this with him as its been several years since his p***ng. You have brought great memories back of him. Thank you so much!

I have field training pictures taken with a handheld camera of Co. "A" of the 773rd TDB prior to them leaving TN - CONUS and shipping off to Europe. Many of these pctures have identifying first names and surnames and their families might like to have them...can anyone point me in the right direction of the 773 survivors and/or their families? Thank you in advance.

My grandfather Edward Rodger Gallalee served with the 803rd TD . I'm seeking any info / photos of him and his battalion .

When I was a teen in the 1980s I had an Army field coat I wore just about everywhere. I had only one patch sewn in it. The 802nd which I bought from a vendor at a flea market. I was proud to wear it even though I joined the Navy later in life.

My father was Charles Edward Burleson, Sgt. 631st Battallion , Company A, Tank Destroyer. I would like to honor him here.

My dad Harold W. Phillips was in the 20th TD Group. He's in the photo on that page. He was a driver for Colonel Sargent.
