Timothy R Sanders

  • My father Charles w Sanders served with the 654th t d b co b headquarters . All the stories we were told growing up as kids can be found in the daily reports . Its amazing how acute the reports and memories matched . Can't imagine sneaking into the service at 15 , and serving in a war . I always acknowledge every veteran I meet , we will soon loose all the ww 11 vets.

David Poretz

  • Bernard Poretz (my dad) was a member of the 601st. He trained at Fort Knox. I have the Company Picture marked "Co. B, 5th Armored Replacement Battalion - Capt Leroy S. Billman Comdg." taken on Feb 1942. I am looking for any information about him or any pictures of his battalion. His discharge papers had him as Co A 601st TD Bn.

Laura DeStephano Ishler

  • My Dad was Samuel W. DeStephano who served in 804 TDD, Co A. I sent some of Dad's photos to this site years ago. I thank you again for this wonderful site. If anyone has family who were in the 804th, I would be happy to send paper copies of these photos to them.

Frederick Marinelli

  • My father was Genova J. Marinelli. He was in the 802 tank destroyers from 1942 to the end of WWII He passed away February 12, 2014 at the age of 90. He was proud of his service and was a great example of the 802.

  • I am a commercial artist living in Killeen, TX., taking care of my 2 war, U.S. ARMY veteran, Dad. I am currently painting a mural for the City of Nolanville, TX., for their new city park. The park will be dedicated to the Gold Star Families, with a drive-a-round monument, in the park. My 120' mural will contain a brief, airbrushed history of Camp/Fort Hood. Your site had proved to be very informative, to my project. I will continue to watch for more updates, especially the photos.

  • My father was 1st Sgt George (Beaver) Wood, Hdqtr Co, 802 nd TD Battalion. I grew up seeing my father and all his buddies at the picnics in Oyster Bay, Christmas parties at Hempstead armory and meetings at my house listening to all the stories and witnessing the camaraderie of these "Band of Brothers." Very proud of my Dad and all those that served in the "802"

  • My father was Albert E. Joern, who was with the 893, MSGT, who received Battlefield promotion to 2nd Lt. Bronze Star and retired from active duty with 30 years and then taught at Ft. Sill, OK
