Just visited Mathew's cemetery in Seffner Fla. Saw Harry H. Newman's grave. 702 TD BN 10-6-44. Reviewed Unit's after action report for 10-6-44 and found two TDs knocked out and 4 killed. RIP

My Dad, Captain Robert B. O'Neil was a Lieutenant in the 654th tank destroyer division. He was wounded twice. Unfortunately he passed away when I was 7. Anyone with info greatly appreciated. Our family is donating his captured Nazi flag to the museum in New Orleans as it is signed by all members in his group

My Grandfather was Lt.Col. Albert J. McCurdy of the 819 TD Battalion. I truly enjoyed this website in honor of all the tank destroyer units. I learned some things I didn't know before in reading the history of the 819th.

Looking for the long lost "Oklahoma Wildcat" (formerly known as the Jinx)... an M10 Tank Destroyer fearlessly piloted and manned for 20 months by the Stokes twins, Claude and Clyde from McAlester, Oklahoma. There were reports of it possibly being seen in the late 1990's at the Red River Army Depot in Texarkana, Texas. IF ANYONE HAS ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS TANK AND WHAT HAPPENED TO IT PLEASE RESPOND. The 93 year old Stokes twins are friends and members of my church here in McAlester, Oklahoma. There is a great book (can be found on Amazon.com) written about there amazing heroics and contributions to liberating France. The book is titled "The Stokes Twins Ride The Oklahoma Wildcat". They were in the 636th Tank Destroyer Battalion supporting the 36th Division from June 1943 to March 1945. Anyone out there who fought along side these wonderful men please contact me. Thank you.

Granddaughter of Cpl Charles W Huckleberry (Bud) 811th TD. Purple Heart & Bronze Star recipient. My Pa pa is my hero, I wish he was still here to hear me say that and see the reenactments we do to honor him and all other WWII veterans. And to teach younger generations the sacrifices he and so many others made so that we may live the way we do today.

My Dad's sister's oldest son served with the 811 from Jan 43 to Dec 45. I'm a lot younger and should have asked more questions when he was still around. Looks like they did a Hell of a job. Would have like to have learned more.

My uncle, George P. Garrett served in the 6th Tank Destroyer Group from its inception in Texas to the end of the war until he was returned home. He was my hero and helped me adjust to civilian life, when I returned from Vietnam in the late 60s. God rest his soul. I would love to hear from anyone who knew him.
