my father Raymond Turner and uncle Corbie Stewart were in the war together. In "A" company. One day as my father was driving some high brass guy the Germans over ran the place that they were in. My uncle Corie was captured and stayed that way until the war was over. 2 heros among 1,000,000 's of heros they got the job done.

Note, Marvin C Ellis was in the 774th TAnk Destroyer, Company B, Platoon A, 1st Lt I believe in charge of Platoon.

Hello: Awesome website. GREAT JOB! My grandfather, Frank Ondick, was in the tank destroyers. 774/Company B HQ. So awesome to see a picture of him and all the other members that served. If anyone out there remembers him/served with him, please contact me. He died when I was around six or seven and I did not hear much about his service. He left behind his TD patch, and my family still has his bronze star and some other decorations. I would really like to hear about him some more. God bless, Lane

My father Maj. C.Ashley Wright, served in the 635th FA Battalion as Executive Officer and for most of its WWII tour in France and Germany, as acting commander. My first letter from my father was posted from France when I was four months old. I have all his letters home from his combat tour. I was conceived in Killeen. TX, outside of Fort Hood when my father was training for deployment but born in NYCity. My NYCity mother wouldn't have me born in Killeen. I followed in my Dad's footsteps, serving as XO of an Army 175mm gun battery in Vietnam, up on the DMZ, OpCon US 3rd Marines. As I told my Dad before he passed, he may have had more guns and men under his command but my guns were bigger than his 155mm guns. Hello my Dad was Gordon Edward Lundie and he enlisted on 1-28-1943 and had a release date of 3-11-1946. He served with the 661st. He past away on 8-16-1979 at the young age of 56.

I am the Historian for the 628th/1-103dArmor Reunion Association in Johnstown, PA. I have been looking for the WD GO 31-47 for the 628th TDB. The unit was awarded the Distinguished Unit Citation for action from 29Nov-8Dec44. Can you help me find this order? Thank You.

My Dad is Tom Hinton. I found a picture of him in his uniform with the "cat" insignia on his left shoulder. I couldn't find out anything about it. He is 94, still alive and of sound mind. So I asked him and he said he was in the 670th tank destroyer batallion. I googled it and this is what I came up with. I would like to know more. He was drafted right after Pearl Harbor at 19 years old. He came home 6 months after the war ended. What a great generation!

Hi, thank you veterans for your service! My grandfather was glen mason. He was in 824th battalion. He died in 1966 and I never got to meet him but am curious about his service. If anyone here knew him, I would be very grateful for any info or stories you could tell me. Thanks!

Hello- My uncle is Manuel Gelao and he died on October 16, 1944 while serving in the 634th Tank Destroyer Battalion. I would appreciate any knowledge about him while serving in this battalion. Thanks.

My grandfather was SGT Kenneth G. Jacobs, Company B 801st Tank Destroyer Battalion. I believe that he is standing far left on the picture A group of six men, including Car DeBrecht (kneeling in front row...)" Any further info on him greatly appreciated. Thank you SO much for this website. I have patches from my grandfather that display the panther crushing the teeth like the one in the top left of this web site.
