LTC Larry Croucher

  • Greetings from Fort Hood, Texas and the 3d Cavalry Regiment. We are starting the process of requesting unit lineage for the 603rd Tank Destroyer BN as part of our realignment of the Regiment. 703rd was attached to 3d Cav Group in WWII. We have an anti-armor company that we want to rename the 603rd Tank Destroyer Company. Would like to talk to someone with extensive knowlegde of the unit about this. Thanks

Marvin E. Merrill

  • My father Gilbert Roy Merrill was in the 601st tank destroyer battalion. he joined the service right after Pearl Harbor out in 1945. He died at the V.A. Hospital in New York city 1951. I am proud to be his son.

  • My Dear Friend Sid Harman was in the 821st TD Batallion And is alive and well. We would like to contact anyone who might have worked with Sid. Sid drove a half track onto the beach on the ? Fourth Day? Towing a Three inch Gun. He later Drove an M10 and then the Ammo truck through the rest of the war. Please email me at Timwinners@gmail.com With any contact info.   • My grandfather William junior Ray was with D co. And HQ co. 894th TD. I am putting together his awards. He passed in 1994. If anyone has any info on those units in WW2 I would really love to hear from you. I know these guys are a dying breed and will soon only be read about in the history books. Any vet still with us, we owe you a debt that can never be repaid!

  • My dad was with A company of the 644th TD battalion during WWII. He was then CPL Manuel M. Cruz of Mesa, AZ. My dad passed away in Dec. of 2012. I would like to know of anyone who served with him. I know it will be tough as many of the heroes he served with are also gone. If anyone can help please email me. Thanks

  • My father Staff Sgt. Leonard "pappy" Haar served with the 806th as an army medic. He passed in 1999, but I'm very proud of his service.

Edward W. Enser Jr

  • My Father, Edward W Enser Tec 5 joined the 601 TD BN in May 1942 and remained with the 601 TD until May1945. The 601 first saw combat on Dec 21, 1942 at Souk El Khemis, Tunisia. The war ended for them on May 8, 1945 in Bavaria (From 601 history by Edward Josowitz).
