my father William T. Rasche served in the 636th TD Battalion. I recently found a very old book of poems that they must have been given during their service. my dad had written pencil notations on the places he was and the dates he was there. Absolutely fascinating. I am proud of him all over again. He died at age 63 and was not able to enjoy the retirement that he had earned. Great site!!

My late grandfather was in the 701st TD Battalion Company B. What a wonderful site you have made! Amazing to see the pictures and read the text that you've gathered. Sure wish that he were still around to share his stories and this site with.

PFC Harold "Huck" Wray was my half-uncle (my dad's half brother). He was in A Co. 817th TD Bn and was killed on Dec 26th 1944, along with PVT Vito Marco. As best I can tell from documents posted here, they were killed by a land mine. I would love to get an electronic or printed copy of the 817th while the unit was still intact, e.g., before it deployed. Please contact me if you know how I can do that.

Dad, Horace B. Cunningham was in Company C of the 805. He wrote an account of being stranded behind lines as out lined in http://www.tankdestroyer.net/images/stories/ArticlePDFs/805th_TD_Jan_17-May_29_43_Battalion_Diary.pdf on 16 and 17 February 1943 and in Annex C.. Am interested to know of others in that unit that may have accounts or
pictures. All sacrificed, many made it. Chet

My father and his twin brother served together in the 640.
As a youngster I attended several reuions and met with most of their "buddies". It is an honor to have the memories of those "Great Men".

My Uncle Phillip Manis served with Co B 636th TD Battalion. I have several pictures with various members of the unit. I would be happy to send digital copies to others who might be able to identify people in the photos
