Not sure if my grandfather was in the TD's or not he received a certificate from North Camp Hood as a Pioneer. His name was Vernon Little,JR but all of his records have his name as Vernard! He was nicknamed Shorty by his brothers and family, not sure if had this name then or not. The photo in the 671st battalion shows 5 gentleman two kneeling and three standing. The one on the left looks like my grandfather but the picture is blurry and its hard to be sure. He passed away in 1985 and I was much to young to ask any questions. I requested his enlistment records from the NARA but they only have his assignments as Headquarters Company 668 Medium Port. He was a T/4 upon his discharge. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Very Nice site! I am the Command Historian for the SC National Guard Unit: 1st BN 178th FA. We have a shared linegage with the 813th TD as two of our batteries were used to form the 813th. When it's time for me to explore this branch of our history, I'll be back. Keep up the good work!

My Father, Glenn H. Curry, Jr. served in the 774th Tank Destroyer Division. Dad never talked about the war. I am just learning about some of his experiences through your website and others like it. Thanks for this labor of love.
