  • I just today ran upon your website. What a wonderful and informative site it is!! I was really looking for information on Rufus Lester Leggett, 636th TD Bn. Les entered the Army as a Private and retired as a LTC. He passed away in 2008 from complications of pancreatic cancer. He worked for years writing a book which was just released on 22 Jul 13. The book "From the Riveria to Zell Am See" is excellent, depicting the trek of the 636th TD Bn through Southern France to the surrender/capture of Reichmarshall Herman Goering, through the eyes and thoughts of young SGT Leggett. I will try to get the necessary information and photos so he can be listed in your people section.

Quitman C. Berthay. He passed away Dec. 15, 2003. You have know idea how much this web site means to me. Having went to the TD reunions, carried him to Fort Knox to the Patton Museum and TD Monument these were the greatest generation. I look forward to donating to your site and please keep up the good work.

  • I believe that my dad William L. Shea served in a TD outfit during the Battle of the Bulge, but I have no idea which one. He passed away in 1971 when I still "knew it all" and wasn't interested in "ancient history". His records were among those destroyed in the NARC fire. Hoping I can piece together his history for my kids and grandkids. He was a heckuva guy...like all of the guys from WW2. Thanks for this website. God bless the USA.
