This is an outstandingly fine site - my complements. I was a member of A Company, 821st Tank Destroyer Battalion from 1942 through 1945. The Battalion landed on Omaha Beach in June of 1944 and was continuously in action through to the Elbe River in Germany in May of 1945.

Excellent reference site for collectors such as myself. I recently purchased a sterling/enamel inlayed Tank Destroyers ring along with the 774th TD Unit history book together at a local antique shop which belonged to Joseph E Thibault who was a member of Recon "B" Company. The items will stay together in my collection and the history behind his and the rest of the units sacrifices will be preserved. Thank You for your service.

Fantastic site. My grandfather, Pfc. Raymond E. Alexander was in the 607th TD Btln (wounded and evacuated from Germany in December 1944). I'd never been able to put together all the pieces of the story until finding it all here. Thanks.

I just today ran upon your website. What a wonderful and informative site it is!! I was really looking for information on Rufus Lester Leggett, 636th TD Bn. Les entered the Army as a Private and retired as a LTC. He passed away in 2008 from complications of pancreatic cancer. He worked for years writing a book which was just released on 22 Jul 13. The book "From the Riveria to Zell Am See" is excellent, depicting the trek of the 636th TD Bn through Southern France to the surrender/capture of Reichmarshall Herman Goering, through the eyes and thoughts of young SGT Leggett. I will try to get the necessary information and photos so he can be listed in your people section.
