My Dad was a member of the 893rd. I believe it was C Company. I went to many reunions with him.
I've been researching as much as i can on the web, and believe this to be one of the better sites for information.

Didn't know this existed. Tried to get my dad's dd214 but apparently the building that housed his info (and others) burned. Apparently, all his info was lost. Any info on my father, Suyford Hebert, 822 HQ would be very much appreciated. A picture of the battalion shows him to be on the second row, 8th from the left.
Thanks,
Cullen Hebert

Looking through my fathers papers I found and article he wrote "History of the 608th Tank Destroyer Battalion". If possible I would like to share. Please contact and you tell me how to do so.

I serve as the Commander of 1st Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment here at Fort Drum, New York. Our unit history dates back to 1941 and we trace our heritage to the 701st Tank Destroyer Battalion.
