I am writing a biography to be entitled "Cold Blooded Honour", which will centre around 5 family members, my tanker Dad being one.Your site is such an eye-opener. In 1961 Dad drove us to Normandy and then for the next 3 weeks, followed by road the route his tanks took to Remagen and to his last battle,at Aachen. His tank was on the front page in Stars and Stripes as hhe was one of the 1st Yanks across the bridge.

Would have loved to seen more pictures of the 812th Battalion. I have a copy of the Thanksgiving Menu from their dinner in 1943. My father, Clifford H. Rice served with this company. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 83. He was very proud to have served and talked about his ordeals often.

Thanks for honoring my father, Steve S. Rogers,as well as the rest of the great men who served our country during WWII. Although most are now gone, hopefully they will not be forgotten.

I am grateful to my brother-in-law, Ronald Joseph Stokes for providing this valuable information about his father, and my late father-in-law, Joseph Mitchell Stokes. He was a great man. I wish I could have known him.
