Ronald Paul Rush

  • My Dad, Paul E.Rush served in 1st Platoon, Company B, 811th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He didn't talk much about his times in WWII, but thanks to this web site, I found out that as a M-18 Gunner, while defending Bastogne, he knocked out two enemy tanks (Mark VI)in a day, One a single shot at 800 yards. I'm so proud of him.

  • Found this site looking for units that spent time at Camp Bewdley Stourport England. I am co-ordinating efforts to preserve the remains of this camp and commemorate the time of US service personel that served there. I would welcome any information from veterans descendents that throws light on their time at this camp

  • My Dad was with the 894th TD Bn.His name was Cheyne "Kit" Carson. He served with folks like Herbert Siercks, Arthur Wiest. They were brave men!So proud of their history. My Dad once wrote that when he died, "he knew he'd go to heaven, because he's already served his time in hell!"His unit was nominated to Guiness Book of records for most consecutive days of combat in WW II.

  • My Dad Don Hurst, just passed away,and was a member of the 813th Company C..As far as we know there are only 2 survivors left.. Dad was in critical condition all last week,,but managed to hang on til Veterans Day..We laid him to rest Sunday Nov 13th.God Bless all the 813th did for our Country,,"We Love You Dad"

  • My grandfather was a member of the 811th Tank Destroyer Unit. It wasn't until recently he started to talk to me about. He will be 99 years old this December and I think its important my son knows everything he can about my grandfather. If you or anyone has any questions, please contact me.

  • Enjoyed looking thru the site but my wifes father was a medic attached to the 629th TD BN. We have photos and a list of members that served with him. Would this be the place to submit all this info? I would like to honor my father inlaw if this would be the forum to do so.

  • My dad Frederic Knilans served in the 671st Tank Destroyer Battalion and I am trying to see if there are any living members that I might be able to contact. My dad has been gone since 1981 and I just recently found which unit he served in.

  • Capt. Gerald B. Kirkpatrick was my father. My brothers and I will be happy to give you more information about him to put on your website. My father died on Veteran's Day (Nov. 11), 2004. He was a wonderful and caring man, and a hero in our eyes.
