• 8) Outstanding site. I keep hearing people say let us not forget our veterans but saying it and doing something about it are entirely different. Keep up the good work. I just submitted my Uncle who was killed in his tank crossing the Rhine River just before Germany surrendered. He never got to see his only child, a daughter, who was born while he was overseas. Now my Aunt and his daughter are gone. Wish something like this came along before now.

• Wonderful website. Retired armor officer, served as the BN S4 and HHC Co Cdr in 3-73 Armor Bn (Airborne) in the 82nd ABN DIV. The M551A1 Sheridan had much in common with the TD force of WWII. • I want to say thanks to all that has made this web page, and for honoring my grandfather, Sutton, Claude A. My grandfather is a loving and kind man and is a good example to live by. If I can be half the man he is, I will have lived a good life.

• My father, James Owen Fudge, was invited to join the army after the Battle of the Bulge in 1945. He was 35,married with a handcapped child, but the Army said come on down. During his shot stay his training was in TD. His civil eng. and prior national guard service made it easy to work with the firing. His problem was his age. He was older than everyone in North Fort Hood. Then there was the teeth. They pulled 1/4 of his teeth every Monday until he had none in 4 weeks. He had those same dentures with his Army number when he died in 1999. When VE day came he was set for discharge. He made plans with the Fort Hood staff to have a "little" party for the guys staying inwhile he caught a trin to San Antoino for discharge. Dad bought a lot of beer and some bottle booze from the cab drivers. Seems things got out of hand after he left. I think the Army is still looking for the person that threw that party in '45. He sure liked being part of the TD even if it was for a short time. JDF

• My father, Felix O. Wood, served with company B of the 802nd. He was wounded on April 7 1945. Great web site, thanks.
