My grandfather Justin Double was in the 609th and won a bronze star!! I found his name in an article....how I wish he was still with us to hear more about history right from his mouth!

My Uncle, George Kramer, a San Antonio, Texas native, was originally in a TD battalion but was taken out to become a combat medic before he was killed at Swickau, Germany in April of 1945. Two of my cousins, niece, and nephew-in-law are all Aggies. One is now a professor at A&M in the College of Agriculture. My dad and uncle were career Army men and I am a proud military brat. Your website is fabulous.

I really think this is a great website. My dad,Edward Kuberski served in the 610th TD. He made the Army his life. He had 23 years in the U.S. Army.
Thanks for remaindering such honorable men and my dad who served their country during the WWII.
Sincerely

Just wanted to say thanks for the info you have put together on this website... You are making a family friend and proud Veteran of the 813 TD unit a happy man... I am pulling all of the unit history for James Frey for him to relive and remember...He was in the Recon Co. for 7 months before being wounded and transferred out in Jan or Feb 1945... His memory is still clear and he has some interesting photos and stories...
Next chance I get, I will see if I can get his photos and scan them and forward them onto you for posting...and set up an Honor page for him...
Thanks again,
Paul Lemley for PFC. James N. Frey Adrian, Michigan

In memory of my Father, Anthony J. Kasprzak who left this earth August 26, 2005. He served our country proudly in the 643 TD BN. I appreciated the historical depiction of this website. I would like to thank the surviving Veterans and families of those gone before us for their service for our freedom. Thank you for your time and dedication to these Veterans.

Thank you for this wonderful site dedicated to the Tank Destroyers. My dad served in the Recon Company of the 629th. He said little about the war except he was proud of the men he served with and the job that all of them did. Now that I am retired I am researching our family tree and dad's service during the war. If anyone has any suggestions that could help my search I would greatly appreciate it. God's blessings to you all.
