Unit History: Unit was activated at Camp Bowie, TX on Feb. 27, 1943. The unit moved to Camp Hood, TX on Apr. 14, 1943. Continued on to the Desert Training Center and Camp Young, CA, on Jul. 27, 1943. They were then transferred to Camp Claiborne, LA, on Jan. 31, 1944, as part of XXI Corps. Moved to Camp Livingston, LA, on May 26, 1944, and then to Camp Shanks, NY, on Sep. 17, 1944, to prepare for shipment. The unit remained there until they departed from the New York Port of Embarkation on Sep. 24, 1944, and arrived in England on Sep. 30, 1944. They then shipped to France, landing on Oct. 2, 1944, where they acted as the XVI Corps Anti-Tank section. They moved into Belgium on Dec. 15, 1944, and then into Holland on Dec. 31, 1944., They then moved into Germany on Mar. 3, 1945. The unit shipped back to the U.S., arriving at the Hampton Roads port on Jun. 27, 1945. From there it was on to Camp Hood, TX on Jul. 3, 1945, where there were deactivated on Nov. 1, 1945.
