634th TD Battalion
German observation posts in Aachen, Germany, are targets for these M-10's and their 3" guns of Co. "A", 634th TD Bn. Oct. 14, 1944. Signla Corps photo #195733 from the National Archives.
From the turret of a Sherman tank, Cpl. Eugene McKay, Calumet City, IL, searches for Germans in Aachen, Germany, while an M-10 of the 634th TD Bn, in the background, moves on German positions. Oct 20, 1944. Signal Corps Photo #195736 from the National Archives. The original description from the Signal Corps, had the M-10 labelled incorrectly as being from the 643rd TD Bn. The Sherman was from "C" Company, of the 745th Tank Battalion, supporting 1st Infantry Division. Thanks to Paul L. James for identifying the error and providing the correct and additional information.
A photo of LeeRoy H. Hennings, standing second from left. Taken with three of his buddies from the 634th. This may have been taken while they were stationed at Camp Hood, TX, or possibly just prior to them shipping out in 1944. Courtesy of Lindsay Payton.
