The restored Willy's Jeep shown is owned by Stephen McIlwaine who lives in Larne, Northern Ireland. In an effort to keep the memory of the 644th alive in his community, he has added markings on the Jeep for the unit which was stationed there during WWII. Stephen has provided additional photos of the Jeep parked at Kilwaughter Castle. Courtesy of Stephen McIlwaine.

The 644th Tank Destroyer Battalion boarded trains on January 23, 1944, enroute to Larne, Northern Ireland. They would occupy Kilwaughter Castle, located just outside of the town. This is one of a few shots taken around what remains of the castle. As you can see the castle has fallen into ruin since WWII. Courtesy of Stephen McIlwaine.
