A soldier of the 795th takes cover behind his motorcycle, taking aim with his Thompson Sub-Machine gun. The MC Scouts rode out front of the unit and would routinely need to protect themselves from hostile fire. The unit was in training at Fort Custer, Michigan in August of 1942. A motorcycle scout rides cross country as he patrols ahead of his unit for enemy positions. A number of the tank destroyer units used motorcycles due to their maneuverability and off-road capabilities. The 795th was in training at Fort Custer, Michigan in August of 1942.
