I can identify that photo of an unknown platoon that is in the photo section. It is one of the gun platoons from 601st TD BN, Company B. I have a copy of that same photo which was supplied to me by Capt. Robert Maynard of Suttons Bay, Michigan. He was the CO of Company B at the end of the war. That photo was taken in Salzburg, Austria.
My father, T5 Howard L. Purvis, of Louisburg, KS was a driver in company B from North Africa to the end of the war.

My 90 year old father drove a tank in the 610th tank destroyer battalion. I will get him over to check out this site. Do you have any record of his serving?

It is exciting to see a website dedicated to these Battalions. I only wish there were more pictures of our father's battalion, Company C.

My father was with the 692nd Tank Destroyer Battalion. His name is Thomas P. Mysliwiec. He's a happy 84 year old only just now telling us about his tour while in the army.
Love this site, if there is any others with information about his battalion would love to hear from you. He has a story of the days while at Dachau that is truly heartwarming, maybe someone else out there knows the story?
Thank you and bless all that serve this country!
