• This email message is to inform you that my Father-in-Law "Harry G. Aronoff" passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Harry turned 100 on January 2, 2011, he had a wonderful birthday party and engaged family and friends that came specifically to be there for Harry's birthday party in San Dieg. Sargeant Aronoff served with the 807th Tank Destroyer Battalion during WWII. Harry, as stated above, passed away in his sleep on Sunday. He is survived by his daughter Linda, his son Philip, daughter-in-law Debbie and three grandchildren, Raymond, Adam, and Allison. • Thanks for this wonderful website! I have just completed a biography of my late uncle, Cpl Allan J. Croshaw of Hightstown, N.J. He was with with the 644th TDB from Ft. Dix onward until seriously wounded on July 18, 1944 in Normandy. The book is dedicated to the officers and men of the 644th and specifically to several of his friends who died only a few weeks before the end of hostilities in Europe.I would like to hear from anyone who might recall my uncle.

• Hi! Love your site and would love to contribute. My Dad was Harold H. Eby, the historian who gathered information and wrote Tank Busters. I have a lot of pictures and info that he left us. Also, my son-in-law is a Master Modeler specializing in tanks and armor from WWII. He has built several models based on pictures that Dad left us. Between us, we would be glad to contribute what we can to preserve this legacy!

• My uncle, Robert "Buddy" Lehan served with the 638th. He was killed on 12/24/44. He's buried at the Henri-Chappele burial grounds in Belgium. I have not one picture of Buddy. I contaced his son In Mississippi. They have nothing. If there are any pictures of Company C, it would mean a great deal to me if I could be directed to them. Thanks again.

• Very nice website you've built here and I'm glad to see so many visitors. My father had A Company of the 811th until he was captured two days before Christmas in 1944, although he did finally manage to make his way back to the battalion after being held as a POW for two months. He would have been 93 today if he hadn't died of cancer in 1965, and the shame of it was that he had just been notified of his selection for brigadier general only two weeks before the diagnosis. General Brownfield was my godfather and I went to his funeral at Arlington late last year, and it was just as moving as those service funerals always have been. My question is, are reunions still being held by the 811th? John Cronin

• Hello,my father, Lake Standridge, was with the 813th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He received the Bronze Star, Silver and the Purple Heart (wounded March 25. 1945 day after they crossed the Rhine...He passed away in 1996. Thanks for such a great website.
