My Father, John Batiste Theriault, was a member of the 632nd Tank Destroyer Battalion from May 14, 1942 to Sept. 14, 1945, in New Guinea, the Phillippines, Leyte, and Luzon. He spent a total of 41 months in the Pacific theater. This posting is to honor his memory and his bravery, receiving two bronze stars and other honors. His stories of his tour are preserved in my memory, as he told them to me so many times, I would correct him if he left out a detail. On this the first day of 2011, I went through his war memorabilia, and wished there to be a record "out there" of my beloved Father and his service to this country. Anyone who has knowledge of him or his Battalion, I would be most honored to hear from you. May all of his comarades be blessed and remembered.

My father, Louis Kaplan was an instructor on Tank Destroyers. He was sent overseas 8 December 1944 with the 809th Tank Battalion. From my research I believe he was with Montgomery forces under General Bradley at Ruhr Valley at the end of the war. If anyone knows who he was or has pictures, I would appreciate you contacting me.

Lt Colonel Stanley Dettmer When in UK before 24th June 1944 he wrote to my Mother (his cousin) I have two of his letters.

So proud and glad to have found this website. My Grandfather "Raymond Oscar Hofmann " served proudly with Co. B of the 811th TDB in Europe WWII. Listed on a copy of his discharge papers I have show he recieved 5 Bronze Stars for five major battle campaigns to include Normandy.Thanks to efforts for this site. We owe so much to these veterans ! I myself am in Afghanistan right now serving with 832nd Combat Engineers 2/34 IBCT. Thank you.

My late father in Law Don DePamphilis was a self-less and heroic member of the 894th TDB. He served in Tunisia, the Anzio Beachhead, and Italian campaigns. He is originally form Queens, New York. He rarely spoke about the war. I want to learn more about his service and if anyone else knew him. He earned the following medals and awards for his gallantry and heroism during WWII while defending our country: The Purple Heart w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Silver Star, w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Conspicuous Service Cross, Awards for Gallantry in Action, Citation for Meritorious Services and The Croix de Guerre w/ 3 Palm leaves by the French Gov't. December 23, 2010 is the 16th anniversary of his death at age 74. I only found out after he died what he had done for this country and what a huge WWII hero he was. I learned about it from old newspaper articles. He never spoke about the war. He has only one grandson, my son, and I want him to see what his grandfather did for this country and that this country appreciates his grandfather's service and sacrifices. Can anyone help?

my grandmothers brother james christiano was in the 603rd t.d. battalion.i have 200 letters to my grandmother from camp hood through germany,but can't find his name on any list or tank destroyer books i have. anyone no how to find info please help.he was from waterbury ct thanks tony :?

my grandfather, Walter Lovelock, was in I belive 691st td bn c co. Thats what comes up on google. If anyone has info on him or knew him I would love to hear from you. Thanks

Drinnon Franks of A CO 692nd Tank Destroyer BN was my uncle. He told me the story of your unit it was very interesting. I miss him a lot. Thanks :)

:cry I am the Veterans Director here in Cooperstown, NY; the other day I noticed the obit for- John D. Crocker who served with the 648th as Company Commander. I have entered his name on the WW2 Memorial site, if you have any further info please forward to me for adding to the site. V/R tex Seamon
