Steve Halley

  • My father, William E. Halley, served as a heavy machine gunner in B Company of the 773rd, joining the unit in Dillingen and then taking part in the terrible fight to hold Oberwampach, Luxembourg at the southern flank of the Bulge. His company ended the war in Czechoslovakia, "spear-heading" for the 90th Infantry Division. I will never forget his sacrifice nor will I let my children forget. I love you dad!

  • Glad to see this, my father, Joseph W. Rood, was in 774th TDB, Commander of a Company, loved all of his men and said he always regretted not going to see the families of the men who died.

  • I am a internet friend of Art Pelkey. I am also a vet pf ww2. I was with the 1st inf. div. I have sure enjoyed my e-mails with art and given the chance to read of his unit in the great war. The 774th was not with my div. but I know that they did their job. Hats off to you guys.

  • Hello everyone! I am the proud grandson and great nephew to two WWII servicemen. My great uncle Andrew was a member of the 636 tank destroyer battalion (Company B)during WWII. I have a lot of his memorabilia and photographs. I am trying to track his travels during the war. I have some names and locations on the backs of pictures. Does anyone have suggestions on where to start?

Steven R. Pisani

  • My uncle, Rudolph R. Pisani, was with the 610th TDB and was killed in action while his company was crossing the Moselle River in September 1944. He was 22 years old and has been memorialized by tributes in his town of Emerson, NJ, and in our family. Many of his letters and personal effects have been donated to the museum which houses this unit's records. I am grateful for all efforts to pay tribute to the 610th TDB and its service in WW2.

  • My father in-law Morris B. Grover, Sr. was in the 638 Tank Distroyers unit around 1942 or 43. He was part of the motorcycle unit. He is now 92 years old and doing very well for his age. If anyone has information or pictures, please post them. Thank you to all who have served and are serving. You are all heroes to all that love this country. God Bless America.

  • My Father, Charles Pilny (now deceased) served as an Ammunition truck driver during WWII from England thru France and parts of Germany. I was looking at a post card sent to my Uncle from Camp Hood that has many of the pictures posted on the site (different times, the stamp was 3 cents)! So on the day after Veterans Day, here’s to all the Vet’s out there, Thank You So Much!!

  • My grandfather, Paul Kochinka served with the 802nd tank destroyers. I wish I could find more information about him. He passed away in 1996. I love you pop, rest in peace.
