My father, Wilmer Rosen, was in Co "A" 672nd T.D. Bn.. I just found a letter to his mother from F.F. Schweinler, Major, Infantry, Commanding at North Camp Hood, Texas Dated 26 August 1943 assuring her that her son "has been received with great welcome..."
Thanks for the site, I will show photos to Dad, who is still living, 87 years old.

My Dad was with the 807th TD. He drove a jeep out ahead to scout. He never talked about the war until the mid 1980's when he started going to the reunions. I was lucky enough to go to a few of those and enjoyed meeting his Army buddies and hearing those stories. He is now 91 and only a few of them left. They are no longer able to travel but still keep in touch through a newsletter. A terrific bunch of guy's.
SEEK... STRIKE... DESTORY!!!

My Father was a PFC who served with the 645th TD. He never said much about his war time duty. I recently came into posession of his unit patch and letters from him to my Mother. He did so much and said so little. Thank you for the web site. My Sons, all three, all read it and have a new appreciation of the hardships.

My father PFC Fred Otte fought with the 823rd TD Battalion. (Company C, I believe) Like many of his generation, he never had much to say about his experiences in Europe. I never pressed him because I knew it was painful for him. Thanks to websites like this, I'm able to learn more about what these heroes went through. Thank you & God Bless you for taking the time to honor these men!

If any members of the 703rd knew him, or would otherwise like to share their memories of the 703rd, please contact me via email. Thank you to all members of the Tank Destroyers, and to all our military men and women, for your brave and selfless service to our country.

My father, William E. Halley, served as a heavy machine gunner in B Company of the 773rd, joining the unit in Dillingen and then taking part in the terrible fight to hold Oberwampach, Luxembourg at the southern flank of the Bulge. His company ended the war in Czechoslovakia, "spear-heading" for the 90th Infantry Division. I will never forget his sacrifice nor will I let my children forget. I love you dad!
