MY BROTHER , SGT THOMAS FRETWELL JR WAS IN THE 629 AND WAS KILLED ON SEPT 16,1944 NEAR THE ZIEGFRED LINE. HIS NAME APPEARS ON THE MISSING MARKER AT THE CEMETERY AT MARGRATEN HOLLOND.

my uncle was in the 654th tank destroyer bat. killed on may 23 1945 his name was wilson foch smith. thats all i really know about him except he was killed in a plane crash in france

My Father, William A. Springstead, was in this unit. He later became a Baptist Minister. He passed away in 1990. My son, his grand-son, Joel Springstead is a Captain in the US Army and just finished a tour in Iraq.
