Megan Rideout

  • My grandfather Emmitt ‘Red’ Rideout was in the 705 TD battalion c company, 3rd platoon. He was apart of the tanks that came to help in Bastogne. My family doesn’t know a lot about my grandfathers time during Ww2.. or even photos. He must have missed picture day for his platoon photos at fort Lewis (1944). If anyone has any info or if anyone knows any vets still alive who may have knew him, please email. Its really important to me to know. ANYTHING will help

  • My father, Arthur J Carlin served with the 605 Tank Destroyer Battalion Company 'A' same as Joseph P. Helm. I see no other information on the site about my father. But I did find Joseph P. Helm posting. Seems he and my father left for Europe and arrived on the same day. Wonder if they knew each other.

  • My son was doing a Veterans Day paper about a family member. He choose my Grandfather Richard Timm. He was asking questions what A-817 meant. So I googled it for him and the the pictures and information. Would love to get copy of the full Battalion pic.

John A. Doerner

  • My cousin Leo J. Davis, Company I, 801 TD BN was KIA at Percy France 1 August 1944 while conducting reconnaissance. He was a radioman in a Jeep when killed. He was from Minot, ND and buried at Rosehill Cemetery Veteran Section. He was well liked and had a baseball field named after him in France.

  • My Father Fred J Pohl was with CO He othrn told me some war store A 672nd AMTRAC Bn I knew onoe of his friends Mr Robert J Heichel He also meintioned another of his friends Norman Llloyd and LyT Charkles G Kaigler who was his platoon officer he told me some cool war stories back in the day I only found out on The HIstory Channke My fathers Unit was invilved on The Los Banos Raid he nev er told me about it

John Broersma

  • My name is John Broersma. My father was John A Broersma and was a 1st Lt. and all I know is what is on his headstone - HQ Company, 1st TD GP. He was a Bronze Star Medal holder. He passed away when I was a very young boy. If anyone has any information, I would be very grateful.

  • My dad Richard C. Schuck was with the 805th T.D. Battalion, he was stationed at Fort Fix, Co Croft, Meade, Hood, England Africa & Italy. He was a Corporal. This is all the information I have on him. He never shared anything stories about his time serving in the war. I would love to know more about his time there. If anyone knew him please contact me.

  • My father Henry Rohrer was a SSgt in the 643 TD. Nice to see some info about the tank destroyers.

  • I believe my grandfather was in the 899th tank destroyer battalion. Couldn’t find his name. Was wondering if you had any information on him? I know he talked about Herschel Briles when I was little. They both were from Colfax, IA. Thank you
