My Grandpa James (Maurice A. James) was in Co C, 629th tank destroyer battalion. I am thrilled that I found this site! I know if he was still with us he would be happy to catch up with his old buddies!

My Father was T-4 Allie L. Windsor with C Company 605TD Battalion, he was a Tank driver and that is all I know he never shared anything about his service. He was from Alabama married my mom who was from Chicago, they made their home in Chicago, Dad was a bus driver for a period of time them became a Janitor and took care of 11 apartment buildings in Chicago then moved to a large apartment complex in the suburbs, until he retired, he passed away at the age of 65. My dad was a great man whom I loved a lot. If anyone knows anything about my dad I would love to hear from you.

My father Ferd E White Sr was a member of the 643 Tank Destroyer Bn. during World War II, He was very proud to be a member of that group. He had just passed away this June 27 2017 @ age 93, I have been sending some pictures and other correspondence to different groups involved with the 643rd Tank Destroyers. They have been very helpful in identifying some of the people in the pictures. I also notice there was a great grand daughter looking for information on her great grandfather who also belonged to the 643rd Tank Destroyer BN. I did find out he was buried in Wallingford Ct. 06492 back in 1958, He was a Maine native like my dad. My dad resided in Wallingford Ct since the early 50's.

I am investigating my uncle, Joseph Manz from Pittsburgh PA. I have a picture of him with the tank destroyer patch on his left arm. That is all I have. I would love to know what company/ battalion he served with and what operations he participated. He died in 1967 and I never got to talk to him about his service. Thanks.

My dad was S/Sgt Ralph Williams. Headquarters Company, Medical Detachment.
Great seeing his picture. Dad never talked much about the war, but was proud of his service.
