Great site! My Grandfather Ross O. Schmidt was in A company 636th Tank Destroyer Bn. I'd give the site a five if someone would decifer all the field reports.

Okay. Update. I found my Uncle's platoon on the roster page! Thanks so much for such a great site. His journal did not mention the platoon or Division.
Thank you!

I am the grandson of John J. "O'toole" O'Donnell. I am looking for any photos from company "C" of the 636th TDB. Please contact me at cvn727375@yahoo.com if you have any photos you are willing to share. Sadly my grandfather passed in 1993... I miss him everyday. I am lucky to wear his WWII dog tag everyday. Thank you to everyone who gave so much to the 636th and to America.
Very Respectfully,

A friend told me about this site when they saw my father's (Robert E. Palmer of Columbus, Ohio) WWII book with the same tiger face. I have a lot of things my dad kept from WWII. I had no idea anyone had anything related to WWII and the 893 Division on the internet! My father was a sargent in 5 major battles including the Bulge. I am interested in attending a reunion as my friend said the reunion will be in Ohio.

I have a photo of a man who apparently served in the 812th Tank Destroyer Battalion at Camp Gordon, GA with my husband's great uncle during WWII. The photo is labeled with the name "Commando" Murphy. I do not know his full name, but I would be happy to pass the photo on to any members of his family. I have posted the picture on Ancestry at:

So neat to discover some of my grandfather, Lois Phillips’, history--things that even my dad hadn't known about him. It's also interesting knowing how much more there is to a person's life story than is able to be told in a brief summary. Thanks for making this site.

I met Gen. Oden at a reception at Ft. Rucker in
1967 when my husband graduated flight school. My
father, Lt. Gen Kenneth Howard (dressed in a tux) was in attendance. They had quite a visit.
If anyone recalls this reception/dance please get back to me. C
