I am collecting information on my father's (Emory Allen Luke) service record.
He was with the 608TH which was combined with the 807 Tank Destroyer Battalions.
Dad was very proud of his service in Europe and told me many stories of the European Theatre.

My Uncle PFC Lester J. Lynch, 610th Tank Destroyer Battalion was awarded the DSC for action on 9/15/1944. Is it possible to get an after action report for that.

My father was a T4 radio operator in an M8 in the 607 TD Bn. I am fortunate to have copies of the "TANK BUSTERS" BOOK and some photos of the 607th in Europe.
There were many members of the 607th from Oregon and Washington; for many years they held an annual picnic in Portland, OR. At one of these events, my father introduced me to the battalion comander, Col. Harald Sundt who made a special trip to attend.
My father passed away in 2006. When we were cleaning up my parents home for sale we discovered my father's army bag in the attic. The bag had the original Railway Express Agency transit tag on it and had been unopened since 1946.
Among the things that we found were: A box of unopened K rations, a three-day pass to Paris, a uniform, pictures of the 607th, a small banner from a camp in California, a luger with a release signed by the company commander and much more. It was a true time capsule!

My grandfather served in the 701st Tank Distroyer Bn as the secretary to one of the commanding officers. He typed on onion skin paper a daily account of his 42 months of service. I discovered these envelopes with pictures, post cards, foreign money, stamps, memos, and newspaper clippings several years ago when my grandmother passed away. I am now going through these envelopes trying to discover what my grandfather was trying to preserve. I would love to talk to anyone who may have known my grandfather - James Carlisle Collins. He passes away over twenty years ago from cancer. I would have loved to discuss the war with him, but time didn't allow that. God Bless all who have served and all who are serving.

My Dad Lorenzo Montoya served in the 804th. He has since passed away but thank you for remembering our men and women that served this country which affords us the fredom we have today. God bless American.

My Dad served in the 4th armored 704th bn A company as a tank driver. He left the states sept. 1944 and returned Sept. 1945.
