Is 5 the best? If not then 1. At any rate, this site is top notch. Its great! I'm a military historian and am putting together my own data base about WW II with commnaders and staffs,
MOH and DSC recipients, unit citations, campaign participation credits and unit histories. Keep up the good work! I agree with you that these men were and are real heroes and what they did needs to be remembered.
PS I have the book on the 814th. I think I got from Scholar's Bookshelf a few years ago.

Rob, it was great to find your site! I've forwarded info and pictures of my father, Lewis Charles Gibson, Co. A, 825th TD BN. By the way, I'm restoring a 1945 Willys MB with the markings of my Dad's Jeep. I'll be sure to add pictures as the project takes shape.

I am doing research for a compilation of my father's letters home during the war. He was a Captain with the 893rd tank destroyer unit. I loved finding his signature on the action reports. I am hoping to give the letters context for what he was experiencing at the time they were written. This site has been great.

Thank you so much for adding my grandfather to your website. My sons were very excited and proud of their great grandfather who served our country in WWII.
They take with them a piece of history into their lives to share with others about the brave men and women that served our great country. Thanks to my cousin Greg Montenegro for making this possible. What a wonderful tribute. May God Bless and watch over us all.

I wrote all that below and didn't clarify - Sgt. Edward P. Tumas was with the 629th Destroyer Battalion.

Great Website ! My Dad (Andrew Phillips) served with the 703rd. I think he was with B Company. He drove the M10 and then the M36. Dad passed away at 87 on 07/29/10. I am trying to put together what information I have as well as the pictures of my father and his TD crew, as a remembrance of him.
My Uncle (William Phillips) served with the 803rd C company as a TD driver. He is still alive and doing well at 85 years of age. I plan to do the same for him.

My father was James Thomas Laubenthal. He served in the 671st TDB on Leyte and I would very much like to hear from anyone who has any information at all about him or his unit. He was a Sgt and I believe his nickname was 'Curly". He spoke very little about his experience and he passed in 1987 leaving me with many unanswered questions...
