The following reference materials played a large part in providing information about my father’s unit but also in giving me a much greater understanding of WWII and the men and women that served. When I started my research, I really did not have a good understanding of anything relating to these subjects. Now that I know how much research is required to write a good document on any subject, I take my hat off to the authors that have taken their time to preserve and document such a critical time in world history.
This is the second book I purchased by Jonathan Gawne. I only wish I would have had it before I started my research. This book would have saved me allot of trouble and given me a much better understanding of the what, when, why and how of WWII. I think even experts on the subject could still find many items of interest. Even if you know the information, this one volume reference combines it into a very compact and easy to understand resource. The book is soft cover with 342 quality pages. Many illustrations and photographs help to guide you through the search for infomation and clues to your soldier’s military career. I highly recommend this book not just for Tank Destroyer enthusiasts but for anyone interested in WWII.
