My grand father was in this unit. He was Sgt. Howard N Sumner. His nick name was Photo. I still have his pass from Camp Hood Tx. I trained and deployed out of the same "camp" a couple years ago to fight in iraq. God bless all our WWII Vet for fighting for our freedom.

My grandfather William J. Dugas from RI was a 1st Lt. with the 648th Tank Destroyers. While we have always been tremendously proud of what we do know, my family has long been searching for any information about the action he saw, as he never spoke about it to any of his sons.

My grandfather Frank Arbusto served in the 692nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, he was in "B" company. Just trying to do a little research and maybe find a picture or 2 of him when he served.
He passed in 1991, at the time I had no big interest in WW2. He was a fire fighter and the trucks were much cooler back then. I have his original campaign map and treasure it. My grandmother and aunt have some pictures along with his medals.

My Father, John Batiste Theriault, was a member of the 632nd Tank Destroyer Battalion from May 14, 1942 to Sept. 14, 1945, in New Guinea, the Phillippines, Leyte, and Luzon. He spent a total of 41 months in the Pacific theater. This posting is to honor his memory and his bravery, receiving two bronze stars and other honors. His stories of his tour are preserved in my memory, as he told them to me so many times, I would correct him if he left out a detail. On this the first day of 2011, I went through his war memorabilia, and wished there to be a record "out there" of my beloved Father and his service to this country. Anyone who has knowledge of him or his Battalion, I would be most honored to hear from you. May all of his comarades be blessed and remembered.
