So proud and glad to have found this website. My Grandfather "Raymond Oscar Hofmann " served proudly with Co. B of the 811th TDB in Europe WWII. Listed on a copy of his discharge papers I have show he recieved 5 Bronze Stars for five major battle campaigns to include Normandy.Thanks to efforts for this site. We owe so much to these veterans ! I myself am in Afghanistan right now serving with 832nd Combat Engineers 2/34 IBCT. Thank you.

My late father in Law Don DePamphilis was a self-less and heroic member of the 894th TDB. He served in Tunisia, the Anzio Beachhead, and Italian campaigns. He is originally form Queens, New York. He rarely spoke about the war. I want to learn more about his service and if anyone else knew him. He earned the following medals and awards for his gallantry and heroism during WWII while defending our country: The Purple Heart w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Silver Star, w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Conspicuous Service Cross, Awards for Gallantry in Action, Citation for Meritorious Services and The Croix de Guerre w/ 3 Palm leaves by the French Gov't. December 23, 2010 is the 16th anniversary of his death at age 74. I only found out after he died what he had done for this country and what a huge WWII hero he was. I learned about it from old newspaper articles. He never spoke about the war. He has only one grandson, my son, and I want him to see what his grandfather did for this country and that this country appreciates his grandfather's service and sacrifices. Can anyone help?

my grandmothers brother james christiano was in the 603rd t.d. battalion.i have 200 letters to my grandmother from camp hood through germany,but can't find his name on any list or tank destroyer books i have. anyone no how to find info please help.he was from waterbury ct thanks tony :?

my grandfather, Walter Lovelock, was in I belive 691st td bn c co. Thats what comes up on google. If anyone has info on him or knew him I would love to hear from you. Thanks

:cry I am the Veterans Director here in Cooperstown, NY; the other day I noticed the obit for- John D. Crocker who served with the 648th as Company Commander. I have entered his name on the WW2 Memorial site, if you have any further info please forward to me for adding to the site. V/R tex Seamon

I was a soldier in 1-635 Armor Battalion, Kansas Army National Guard until our Flag was rolled and we combined with the 137th Infantry. Just stopping by to do some research. Thanks

My father, Wilmer Rosen, was in Co "A" 672nd T.D. Bn.. I just found a letter to his mother from F.F. Schweinler, Major, Infantry, Commanding at North Camp Hood, Texas Dated 26 August 1943 assuring her that her son "has been received with great welcome..." Thanks for the site, I will show photos to Dad, who is still living, 87 years old. Sue

My Dad was with the 807th TD. He drove a jeep out ahead to scout. He never talked about the war until the mid 1980's when he started going to the reunions. I was lucky enough to go to a few of those and enjoyed meeting his Army buddies and hearing those stories. He is now 91 and only a few of them left. They are no longer able to travel but still keep in touch through a newsletter. A terrific bunch of guy's. SEEK... STRIKE... DESTORY!!! GOYA!!
