David M. Leibli

• My dads name was Lelborn Lee Leibli. He was a staff sgt with the 1st Platoon, Recon Co., 603rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. He had his rifle shot out of his hands by a German soldier. He fell off the armored car and broke his hand. I would say he was lucky. I write this in honor of him. He passed away December 4 2003.

• My father was in the 773rd T.D.,he was wounded in the Forest De Parroy, outside of Luneville France, I just returned from there, The J-pac of the U.S. gov just Identified the remains of his crew mates , who perished in the T,D. Oct 9th 1944, my father survived

• I found your site while doing research on my uncle's WW 2 uniform. It has the same patch displayed on your web site. I was wondering if I could find out what the bars on the jacket signify. There is a 5th Army patch on the left sleeve. The bar on the right front of the jacket is yellow/gold with very thin red, white and blue stripes. The bar on the left front has bars of (from left to right) brown, thin green, white , red, wide green, thin blue, white, red, wide green , thin white, thin black, thin white then finishes with brown. Thanks

• MY BROTHER , SGT THOMAS FRETWELL JR WAS IN THE 629 AND WAS KILLED ON SEPT 16,1944 NEAR THE ZIEGFRED LINE. HIS NAME APPEARS ON THE MISSING MARKER AT THE CEMETERY AT MARGRATEN HOLLOND.

• Very nice site. I was doing some research into my artillery unit history and came across some info pertaining to the 813th TD and thought I would look into it. That's how I found this site.
