I am the son of Lester N. Leininger, machine gunner in F Co, 329th, 83rd Div. The 302 TD Bn was attached to the 83rd Div. during Normandy and St Malo and as I map out the trajectory of the 329th the history of the 802 naturally is of interest.

Thank you so much for this website! My father, George M. Jordan, was a Tec5 in Hq platoon, recon company of the 811th TD Bn. He attended the 811th reunions yearly from 1956 until shortly before his death in 1993. In 1985, he gave the book that you have made available on this website, "History of 811th Tank Destroyer Battalion," to the US Army Command and General Staff College Library. He would be so pleased to know that you have made it available for all to see.

Thank you for having this website! My mother-in-law is kin to Curmit Thetford from the 692nd. He passed in 1952, all she had was a letter written in 1945, so I am doing some research on him for her. Please if you have a picture of him let me know... or if there is anyone who is a close relative.
Thank you keep up the wonderful history!!!
