Amazing to see the updated website! I remember first finding the website while searching for info on my great-grandfather who served in 635th TDB and finding his name in memorabilia shared on the website. Truly impressive. Thank you for the hard work.

My father, Orin Harper was in the 825th TD. I knew nothing about what he did in WW II other than what I have learned in recent years.

It was so nice to see Uncle Nicky's picture and to read about his regiment. He was killed before I had a chance to meet him. My father loved his little brother very much. Thanks to all for service at such an important but sad time in our history.

I would like to find out more information on my father’s tour of duty during WWII. All I was told is that because he could speak French he was assigned to drive officers. I know he served at the battle of the Bulge, he spent time in France and ended the was in Nuremberg Germany. I have the flag that was flying over the court house. He brought it home as a souvenir. I a looking for more information that I can send the museum I am donating it to.
If anyone has an information pleas email me
Thanks

Thank you, Rob and Steve, for a super website that honors special veterans from WW II. I am the nephew of Corporal Stanley J Dunaj, received the bronze star for heroic action in August 1944 with C Company 702nd TD. I will submit photos and documents that will outline his service. Unfortunately, I only have half of the field document for the bronze star, must have been folded and torn, part of the 2nd Armored divisional seal is visible. I have 2 letters from LTC Harry H Hart responding to my inquiries about my uncle, letters from May and December 2000. Interesting, he wrote that he probably pinned the bronze star medal on him. I also asked about a few buddies that were listed in uncle's documents. They are Thomas L. Welch, Vernon W. Meyer, Frank A Jeffers, and Sgt Charles Leininger. I checked the complete guest book searching for any connections to these fine men. I am lucky to have a commendation document from the commander for C Company 654th TD Bn, it compliments Cpl Dunaj, spelled with a "y" and Sgt Leininger for training this unit on the M36, also signed by LTC John a Beall commander 702nd TD. I am proud to read about the families and friends interested in their veterans' service. Stanley had 2 other brothers in the service. Sgt Joe Dunaj 505 PIR 82nd Airborne, 4 combat jumps and 2 purple hearts, my dad Edward J Dunaj, Sgt B24 radio operator gunner. My son served in the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan. My father-in-law LTC Donald B Avey Navigator RF4 and B52s, 130 missions in Vietnam. Thank you for the space to commemorate my families' military service. Deed Not Words, Jeff Dunaj

I found the 820th TD Bn website as I researched a shoulder patch found in my father's WWII memorabilia. He served in the 106th Infantry Division in the Battle of the Bulge. He never talked about his service so I don't know the significance of the TD patch but know that there had to have been a very strong connection for him to have kept it.

Thank you for this honor/remembrance sight of those who bravely fought in the 803rd. My father was among them. So many of his friends never returned. His experiences changed him for life and he would never speak of it. He was brave and loved the U.S. I wish I could have known his story.
