Thank you for this wonderful site. I have a lot more researching to do, but without having come across this site, I wouldn't have a clue where to begin. My father, Myron Bateman, was in the 640th. I still have his dress uniform with all of his ribbons and insignias still on it.

Great site. I've enjoyed visiting. My father trained in tank destroyers but was retrained for the invasion of Japan. Trying to find out more about his service since his records were destroyed in the 1970's fire.

It is so nice to see places like this that preserve and acknowledge the people, who at the time, literally saved the world! Two of these people were Sgt Douglas Filbeck, was my Uncle. He drove a tank destroyer named "Blazing ***," and Sgt William R. Norvell, 44th Infantry Division, 324th Inf, Company "C," my dad. We are loosing these special men at an alarming rate,so I wish to thank all who have taken the time to establish and maintain sites like this.

What a wonderful website! My son Brandon has been researching about his grandfather, Glen Sire and came upon your site. I am Glen's daughter-in-law. Glen went on to write a novel about his experiences in WWII titled, "The Deathmakers"

My father was Cpl. J.B. Bowen of the 637th. He was with them at Bougainville and the Philippines. His gun was named "Luxury Liner" and was an M10m or M18 as far as I can tell from old photos. Very hard to find much info about this unit, but this site has been helpful. Keep it up!

My dad is Ralph B. Swiger who was SSgt with the 806th Tank Destroyer Battalion. I was born while the unit was on its way to the Phillipines.
He is now 91 years old and he and my mother are still living.
Thanks for this web site.
